Delray Beach Lights Up the Season With Its Spectacular Christmas Tree Celebration
The Christmas season kicks off on December 2nd in Delray Beach—it's an event you won't want to miss!
It’s one of Florida’s most sensational holiday traditions! For the 32nd year, visitors will gather together at Old School Square in Delray Beach to watch the lighting of the city’s iconic 100-foot Christmas tree and enjoy their merry Yuletide Street Festival.
It all starts with Santa turning on this shimmering evergreen, adorned with 18,000 ornaments and nearly 218,000 LED lights. But this is far more than a beautiful display—it’s a cherished city landmark. Once the lights come on, guests can actually step inside the tree to explore interactive scenes that celebrate the history of this village by the sea.
A Tree with a Story
While this tree is artificial, it has grown tremendously throughout the years. In the early 90s, the city purchased a 50-footer to help spur economic development in their struggling downtown. For their centennial celebration, they purchased the additional 50 feet of the tree, and today it serves as an annual tradition that draws hundreds of thousands of visitors from near and far.
FUN FACT: It takes up to 14 days to set up this breathtaking city centerpiece!
Yuletide Street Festival Highlights

Surrounding the lighting of this giant tree is a cheery open-air celebration filled with the simple joys of the season: over 60 boutique vendors, culinary delights, live music, children’s activities, and festive surprises tucked around every corner. There’s ice skating, a carousel, mini golf, a silent disco, carolers, and you can even visit with Santa inside his house!
